Mr. Nordstrand, who has a background as a chemical engineer, became involved in risk management because he felt that he could help prevent accidents in challenging environments. He attributes his success to hard work and experience. A native of Norway, he received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Trondheim Technical College in 1975.
